Origin Story

A Journey from Faithfulness to Faithful Learning

“And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men,
knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ”
— Colossians 3:23-24 (NKJV)

This verse has been the quiet heartbeat behind FAITHFL from the very beginning.

Let there be light

What started as a simple idea for a Master of Fine Arts thesis in Graphic Design—an online exhibition of original artwork—quietly shifted into something far greater. The question lingered: How can I create a body of work that truly honors God? The answer wasn’t another art show. It was FAITHFL.

Being Faithful

As we surveyed the landscape of online Christian education, we saw passionate teachers, gifted speakers, and heartfelt content. To us, something was missing.

Many offerings felt more like inspiring small-group studies than rigorous university-level courses. The design, structure, and depth often fell short of the excellence we’ve come to expect from secular higher education.

We asked ourselves: Why should Christian learning settle for less?

We made a vow—to be faithful. Faithful to the calling of Colossians 3:23. Faithful to the pursuit of truth, beauty, and wisdom. We looked to the academic standards of systems like the State University System of Florida and committed to building something different: courses and certifications that are Classical, Affordable, and designed to deliver lasting value—wisdom that endures a lifetime.

A Personal Foundation

My own early journey with Christ included the writings of C.S. Lewis. His clear reasoning, imaginative depth, and unwavering devotion shaped what I believe and why I believe it. He turned me into a lifelong learner, always seeking the divine in the true, the good, and the beautiful.

Bible study remains the foundation of everything we do at FAITHFL. Scripture is our starting point and final authority. Yet we also recognize that some Christians believe they should read only the Bible. While that impulse is understandable, it overlooks a profound truth: God has been pouring out wisdom upon humanity for thousands of years—since recorded history began and since He first gave His Word.

The Legacy of Classical Learning

Classical learning invites us to stand on the shoulders of great thinkers across the ages—men and women who wrestled with life’s deepest questions and pointed, in varying degrees, toward eternal truth.

From the ancient world we draw insight from Plato, Aristotle, and even figures like Justinian and Marcus Aurelius. The medieval era gave us Augustine and Aquinas. The Reformation brought Luther, Calvin, and Knox. The modern era has blessed us with voices like C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, and contemporary pastors and authors such as R.C. Sproul, Alistair Begg, Adrian Rogers, John Eldredge, Max Lucado, James MacDonald, Chip Ingram, Rick Warren, Craig Groeschel, and many others.

God is still speaking.

He is still pouring out wisdom to His children who seek Him with open hearts. History is not stagnant—it is a living conversation.

Our task is to listen carefully, guard our hearts, keep company with wise men and women, test every idea against Scripture, and retain what is good (Philippians 4:8).

I’ve been reading the Bible daily since I was 16. Even then, whenever I opened a new book, I would pray: “Lord, help me retain what is true and good, and let go of anything that isn’t from You.”

That prayer still guides me today.

From Thesis to Mission

Instead of a gallery exhibition, I resolved to create a lasting work that honors God, shares the Good News, and passes on the wisdom of the authors who have most shaped me. My small but growing library is filled with books I return to again and again—and new ones that continue to inspire.

Then my son, Ryan, joined the vision. Together we examined other Christian schools—their missions, their methods, and the fruit they produced. Ryan brought a relentless commitment to excellence, insisting that every course reflect academic rigor and heartfelt passion.

His guiding principle became ours: We only teach what we love, and we teach it faithfully.

And so FAITHFL was born.

An Invitation to Join Us

Today, we are building courses, refining them, and creating a platform to deliver them with excellence. But we cannot do this alone. We invite passionate teachers, scholars, pastors, and content creators to partner with us. Every course undergoes peer review—welcoming input from ministry leaders who walk alongside us to sharpen and improve our work.

If you create a course, you’ll receive royalties for every student who enrolls.
If you teach a course, you’ll be compensated for every student you guide.

This is God’s economy—an ecosystem where everyone who contributes shares in the blessing.

Together, we build something greater than any one of us could alone. FAITHFL is more than a school. It’s a movement of faithfulness—honoring the Lord in all we do, equipping believers with wisdom that lasts, and passing on the riches of classical Christian learning to the next generation.

We invite you to join us. Come learn. Come teach. Come build. With all our hearts, as unto the Lord.

Be FAITHFL.
